Certain wines are never out of fashion. For almost 15 years this snappy blonde form Gascony has been one of the most sold white wines in Norway. Tariquet, or Domaine du Tariquet – which is her name – either you chose the box or the bottle, was recently intorduced in the 2012 vintage. Again I have awinner in my glass. The secret behind the success is a tast which pleases most palates. In the 2012 vintage local grapes Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Gros Manseng and a bit of Sauvignon Blanc creates a summer fresh blonde. She has a straw colour and smells refreshingly of flowers, citrus, gooseberries, wheat and mandarine. Round, fresh and easy drinking. Dry, bracing and wonderfully uncomplicated – it is impossible not to like. This wine always brings on memories of summer, vacation and lazy days. Perfect with claws of crab, fresh shrimps, mussels, scampi, salads, light dishes with fish or just when relaxing in the garden.
