Our wines and Bas-Armagnacs are all “mis en bouteille au domaine” which means “estate bottled” and come exclusively from grapes harvested at Domaine Tariquet.
What is a Propriétaire-récoltant or wine grower? It goes beyond simply harvesting one’s own grapes. It is about autonomy, personal responsibility, all in the quest for quality.
It is a philosophy, a motto, that is as deeply rooted as our vines at Domaine Tariquet.

At Domaine Tariquet, we are “propriétaire-récoltant”, acknowledging that vines are by nature intergenerational, which is why we must always think in the longer-term. We cultivate our own vines on over 1,200 hectares, which is atypical for a single wine estate. Our wines and Bas-Armagnacs are all “mis en bouteille au domaine” which means “estate bottled” and come exclusively from grapes harvested at Domaine Tariquet.

We therefore work our own plots which are all located within the Côtes de Gascogne IGP and Bas-Armagnac AOC territories. We harvest, vinify, distil, age, and bottle all our wines and spirits at the estate.
By controlling every aspect of the production process, it allows our family to express our terroir’s identity and distinctiveness through our wines and Bas-Armagnacs. We welcome that responsibility to maintain and improve both the quality and consistency of what we produce. This total commitment is not without risks and leads us to fully assume the climate hazards.
We believe that our commitment to sustainable agriculture, started in the early 1990s, alongside five generations of being propriétaire-récoltant, will allow us a better and uncompromising management and to be more resilient in the face of the uncertainties brought by climate change.
As propriétaire-récoltant, we are 100% responsible for what we produce. With know-how passed down from generation to generation, we know our land intimately and the possibilities it offers. But we remain open to both new and old technologies, and any method which can make us even better, whether that be in vine cultivation, winemaking or reducing our impact on the environment.
Our commitment to being a propriétaire-récoltant also inspires our commitment to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). This holistic approach covers both human and environmental issues
Wine is the product of nature and people, and neither should be forgotten when tasting it. It is not an anonymous beverage. It has a name, a history, and comes from a place. The pleasure it gives is singular, with its own signature. When done with integrity, it cannot be confused with any other. This is what we strive for with the wines and Bas-Armagnacs of Domaine Tariquet.
